This cassette got a LOT of play back in the 80s. Brings back lots of memories. One of my favorite shows even though I generally prefer the early 70s. Worth a listen.

I was fortunate enough to have attended this show. I have been going back and listening to many shows I attended on the date they happened. While I don’t comment on most, I had to say something about this outstanding show. This was one of my all time favorites
It was a beautiful day in Maine. There were a two other acts on the bill – Levon Helm was one. Can’t remember the other.
This was the last show of the tour (if I remember correctly). Sometimes the last show can be a little weak – like they are glad the tour is over. Not this show. It is as strong as it gets.
I also remember thinking that after china->rider when they broke into promise land after a very long and strong first set that this might be one of those festival shows were you only get one set. Was so happy to hear them say they would be back after a short break.
The second set opened with a kickass Shakedown. However the highlight for me was the Playing -> UJB followed by post drums line up. The Wheel was an excellent choice (vs. Black Peter, Wharf Rat or Stella Blue which were more common for that time). It just kept the energy level up and all great to dance to.
You know it is a special show when you see the double encore. Brokedown Palace was the perfect way to end a perfect day

a great slice of 1980 here all around: show, sound and recording. in 1980 there were not really that many current SBDs in circulation, but there were plenty of fine AUD recordings going around. perfect example here. this is a crisp Nak 700 recording that captures the outdoor sound of the band at this time quite well. This was a crucial show to have back then, nice to give it a re-listen tonight and see that it stands the test of time.
nice work on the master recording!

It said this is a great one and I agree. I was always into Phish, but this last year I've been checking out alot of the Dead shows. Man I wish I would have caught them live. I don't know why they never get anywhere near Oklahoma.
